Empty error dialog when acquiring an image from a Microsoft web camera using TWAIN
Acquiring an image from a Microsoft web camera using TWAIN can fail, showing an empty error dialog with no explanation of the cause. The empty error dialog is displayed by the web camera's driver therefore PhotoPad is unable to determine the cause or display more details.
Thankfully, the cause is usually just that the web camera was not connected properly at the time. Check that the USB cable is properly connected, or try connecting it a different USB port.
